A major consulting firm is seeking an SOW Performance Manager for a 12-month remote contract, with potential for extension. The role involves managing vendor performance against contractual agreements, financial tracking, and collaboration with legal and procurement teams. Candidates must have 5–7 years of experience in contract performance management, preferably with large system integrators. Occasional travel may be required within Europe.

Overview

SOW Performance Manager - 12 months + ext. Remote on behalf of one of our key partners. RED now has a new opportunity for an SOW Performance Manager to join them on a new S/4HANA implementation project. The initial contract is for 12 months with very long-term prospects. This contract will be remote with occasional travel within Europe. It is to start ASAP.

Major Accountabilities
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end performance of vendor deliverables as outlined in Statements of Work (SOW), ensuring delivery aligns with contractual scope, quality, timelines, and budget.
  • Track Quality Gates and Milestones against agreed-upon acceptance criteria, ensuring timely completion and documentation of deliverables for sign-off.
  • Ensure that payment-relevant milestones, including both internal and vendor responsibilities, are accurately tracked and aligned with contractual agreements and payment terms.
  • Proactively manage and integrate scope changes, delays, and risk areas, ensuring timely escalation and resolution in coordination with Procurement, Finance, and Program Management.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, and Delivery teams to ensure clarity and enforceability of performance expectations.
  • Monitor financial obligations, forecast expenditure against budget, and ensure all invoice approvals are based on verified milestone achievements and compliance with SOW terms.
  • Maintain detailed records of obligations, approvals, and changes throughout the SOW lifecycle, enabling full auditability and contract compliance.
  • Support vendor performance reviews with objective data and insights derived from tracking tools and dashboards.
  • Serves as secretary of Change Review Board (for Contractual Changes to SOW).
  • Tracks overall vendor performance (incl. survey results) and takes actions accordingly.
  • Aligns with internal teams to ensure internal RASCI accountabilities are met and documented.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Milestone Compliance Rate: % of contractual milestones delivered on time and accepted per quality gate criteria.
  • Variance from Forecasted Spend: Difference between forecasted and actual spend.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction Index: Feedback scores from internal business units.
Work Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in contract performance management, vendor/SI oversight, or commercial project delivery.
  • Proven experience managing SOWs with large system integrators (e.g., Accenture, Deloitte, IBM, Capgemini), ideally in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial governance within service-based contracts, including milestone-based payments, T&M vs. fixed-price models, and earned value tracking.
  • Experience working with procurement, legal, finance, and delivery teams to enforce and operationalize contractual terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and enforce accountability across internal and external teams.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet).
