ZimVie is seeking an experienced, dynamic upstream Global Product Manager for its industry-leading Biomaterials portfolio. The Global Product Manager will foster the lifetime commercial success of their product line(s), acting as the product champion within the company.

The ideal candidate will have upstream Biomaterials product management experience in dental, spine, orthopedic, or other medical device areas and possess strong scientific and business acumen.

This team member will collaborate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with Regional Sales, Regional Marketing, cross-functional teams, and Alliance Partners, managing global products throughout the Product Lifecycle from new product selection to withdrawal to ensure maximum return on investment is achieved. The Product Manager is expected to become the market expert within the business for their defined area, understanding customer’s current and future needs and the strengths and weaknesses of competitors’ products, while also being able to represent their business segment in front of customers, company leadership, and supply partners.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contributes to portfolio strategy, identifies new product distribution opportunities, pitches new products to the executive team, generates terms sheets with suppliers to facilitate contract negotiation, and leads the marketing effort to bring new products from commercialization to market exit
  • Works on financial modeling of new project proposals with finance including but not limited to opportunity size, units per year, ASP, COGS, Margins, cannibalization or existing products by country launched in order to support go / no go decision making
  • Works closely with regional marketing teams on new product launches for forecasting, commercialization and campaign creation and field sales training
  • Actively participates in assigned project teams and represents global marketing and the voice of customer on core teams for new products
  • Acquires product and customer insights through market research (including but not limited to quantitative and qualitative surveys and interviews), clinical articles, data reports, competitive insights, and regional input to assure products meet the needs of the intended markets
  • Generates and executes on clear and comprehensive go-to-market and launch plans
  • Works across multiple internal and external groups to collaborate on clinical assessments, regulatory claims, surgical technique development, packaging and labeling, marketing collateral development, social media plans, clinician education, sales force education, etc.
  • Maintains high level of product category knowledge by staying current in published information and competitive moves, maintaining regional market contacts, interacting with surgeons, and attending industry meetings.
  • Owns major brands and / or sub-segment of the portfolio
  • Responsible for cultivating and executing on strategy at the brand and / or sub-segment level
  • Writes clear, concise marketing copy that follows brand and style guidelines
  • Interacts closely with MarCom teams or agencies to define clear messaging and visualization for the brands / sub-segments and product launch collateral
Expected Areas of Competence
  • Uses knowledge of existing products, new developments, and market needs to formulate strategic and creative marketing plans
  • Develops a firm understanding of financial trends and performance in specific brand lines
  • Proficient in Excel and prepares forecasts and financial models; identifies market shifts and threats
  • Uses and understands medical, clinical, and technical language to interact with internal and external customers; Translates technical language into appropriate terms adapted to be understood by a variety of stakeholders
  • Assesses brand viability relative to existing products with new product offerings to enhance overall brand and portfolio strength. Champions the brand through a comprehensive understanding of customer and end-user needs and product positioning relative to the competition
  • Builds and maintains long-term relationships with high level key opinion leaders, key strategic customers, and regional sales teams to promote and support the ZimVie brands
  • Ability to join meetings in a wide range of time zones as needed to support portfolio
Education / Experience Requirements
  • B.A. / B.S., preferably Business, Bioengineering, Biology with a Business emphasis, or similar.
  • M.B.A. or advanced science degree preferred.
  • 5 years of marketing experience required.
  • Product Management experience in Biomaterials required; Medical Device experience strongly preferred.
