Job Description

We are seeking a Waiter / Waitress to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Food & Beverage supervisor, your responsibilities will include preparing drinks as per guest preferences, serving food, and creating relaxing, memorable experiences for guests. You will support Food & Beverage operations, representing the face of our guests' experience and ensuring they have a great time from arrival to departure.

  1. Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere for guests to unwind and enjoy.
  2. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and cleanliness.
  3. Describe menu items and drinks vividly, highlighting their origin, taste, and preparation.
  4. Set up your outlet, stock supplies, and manage inventory.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of the work area.
  6. Assist with other duties as needed, including serving in different outlets like room service, bar, or terrace.
  7. Coordinate with kitchen and restaurant staff to deliver seamless service.
  8. Follow departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  9. Provide attentive and intuitive service, anticipating guest needs.
  10. Assess customer preferences and make suitable recommendations.
  11. Address guest dissatisfaction promptly to ensure satisfaction.
  12. Accurately close guest checks and handle payments, including voided checks or complimentary items.
  13. Adhere to safety and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have at least 2 years of experience in hospitality within food & beverage.
  • Possess some college education or advanced training in food and beverage management (valuable).
  • Can multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Are fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Can make people feel good, including team members and guests.
  • Build positive relationships and work confidently with teams and leaders.
  • Take ownership, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
  • Learn quickly and adapt to SLS’s culture.
  • Are humble, open-minded, and team-oriented.
  • Are willing to try new approaches and support team efforts.
