You will be based in one of our offices in Germany or Austria. You will work in teams and directly with our clients.

When you join McKinsey as a Junior Fellow, you join a firm that challenges you and invests heavily in your professional development. You will have the opportunity to work on teams and help some of the world's best organizations—across private, public, and social sectors—solve complex problems. You will collaborate with a range of experts, from data scientists to researchers to software and app designers.

You will work in teams of typically 3-5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of client engagement.

Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You may also present results to client management and help implement recommendations alongside client team members.

You will receive exceptional training, frequent coaching, and mentoring from colleagues. This includes guidance from a partner in your local office or practice and several weeks of formal training. You will also receive support in selecting client projects to develop your skills and expand your network.

While all consultants develop specialized knowledge over time, most are initially broad in focus, not requiring specific industry or functional expertise to succeed. For experienced professionals joining McKinsey, this can mean building on previous knowledge or gaining new experience in a different area.

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or 1-3 years of work experience after completing your undergraduate degree
• Outstanding academic achievement
• Aptitude for analytics
• Proven leadership in work or extracurricular activities
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Effective communication skills in English and the local office language(s)
