BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

WFP country offices deliver assistance through digital platforms and service providers, partnering with financial service providers (banks, micro‑finance institutions, mobile money operators, money transfer agents) and using its own platform, SCOPE.

Our objective is to digitize delivery of both cash‑based transfers and in‑kind assistance to achieve greater efficiencies, accountability and traceability, and to inform programme design through analysis of digital operational data.

RECRUITING: CASH SERVICE DELIVERY MANAGER

You will be part of the Cash Data Services team within Delivery Assurance Services, supporting WFP’s cash‑based transfers operations globally.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee planning and delivery of a portfolio of projects implementing data‑assurance solutions for WFP country offices.
  • Monitor and report progress to senior management and clients; manage deadlines and client expectations; address issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate preparation of assurance service proposals, including objectives, resources, timelines and risks.
  • Collect inputs from data analysts, data engineers, clients and senior management to ensure proposals are relevant, feasible and meet internal assurance delivery standards.
  • Prepare progress reports for workstreams, share with clients, and produce summary statistics to track milestones and deliverable status.
  • Provide expert advice to field offices on Cash Data Assurance matters and support implementation of assurance solutions remotely or on‑site.
  • Coordinate resource allocation for assigned projects, ensuring appropriate level of capacity (data analysts, data engineers).
  • Collaborate with contracted engineers and internal data analysts to prioritise and escalat e service requests, bugfixes and change requests.
  • Use stakeholder feedback to continuously improve solution delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science or relevant field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in related work.
  • Experience managing technology projects involving sensitive data acquisition, processing and reporting.
  • Experience defining, documenting and prioritising tasks against limited resources, monitoring progress, tracking KPIs, and managing budgets—especially in humanitarian settings.
  • Experience managing contracts with technology vendors and reviewing SLA compliance.
  • Ability to write concise reports and make compelling presentations for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience creating and promoting new products or services to meet organisational strategy.
  • Experience in the humanitarian sector, especially in the field.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to engage with senior management and diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment and supervising team members.
LANGUAGES
  • English (fluent).
  • Other UN language a plus.
