Job summary

A regional healthcare entity is seeking an individual for an administrative role focused on public health services. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of relevant administrative experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks efficiently. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and comes with a work arrangement that is in-person at the Winnipeg location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative tasks for the Public Health unit.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and manage calendars.

Experience
  • Two years related and progressively responsible administrative experience required.
  • Experience in email and computerized calendars required.
  • Data entry experience with a high degree of accuracy required.
  • Experience with Public Health Information Management System (PHIMS) preferred.
  • Administrative experience in a healthcare office preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Formal post secondary training in applied office skills required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Valid Driver’s license.
Qualifications and Skills

Physical Requirements
  • Physically able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 15 lb or 6.8 kg.
  • Physically capable of providing service in a wide variety of community settings under varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Access to a reliable motor vehicle suitable for all environmental conditions.
  • Acceptable Adult & Child Abuse Registry check and Criminal Record check.
  • Subject to immunizations and tuberculin testing as per WRHA Policy.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
