About the Role

NLHS - Labrador Grenfell Zone seeks a dynamic Resident Care Manager to lead and support the 71-bed Long-Term Care Unit at Labrador Health Centre. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills, with experience in quality improvement and risk management to ensure optimal client care. Responsibilities include managing resident care, programs, services, human resources, and fiscal performance. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and database management is required. Reporting to the Director of Seniors Care, the manager will foster a resident-centered care philosophy and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in a healthcare-related discipline with registration through a provincial regulatory body
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a registered healthcare provider
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience
  • Experience in a long-term care setting
  • Completion of a management course or willingness to complete one within a designated timeframe
  • Proven supervisory skills, independent judgment, and initiative
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement and Risk Management processes
  • Passion for resident-centered care and working with seniors
  • Successful completion of a criminal record and vulnerable sector check
Duties
  • Manage and evaluate care delivery and services
  • Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams
  • Implement evidence-based clinical practices
  • Monitor staffing and develop policies and procedures
  • Handle human resources functions including hiring, evaluations, and discipline
  • Oversee payroll, financial statements, and variances
