The Renewable Energy Electrician will travel to job sites around the defined service area and help build and maintain solar, wind, battery storage, and electric vehicle infrastructure. The technician must be competent and qualified to work on electrical and/or mechanical components of Renewable Energy assets.
What will you do as a Renewable Energy Electrician at Spark Power?
- Follow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
- Complete routine safety documentation before every job including tailgate meetings, electrical work permits, etc.
- Perform technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to maximize performance and production.
- Follow and implement LOTO plans and procedures.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Conduct quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed.
- Follow OEM-specific maintenance requirements in addition to company standards and industry best practices such as NETA MTS, CSA Z463, etc.
- Maintain daily digital reporting and documentation of all work performed.
- Work in a team-based environment and independently as necessary.
- Participate in on-call weekend services on a rotating schedule.
- Identify issues and provide feedback for ongoing development of projects.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Keep sites clean and safe, including buildings, vegetation, fences, gates, roads, etc.
- Ensure spare parts inventory is organized and maintained.

What are we looking for?
- Minimum 2 years of electrical experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in electrical or mechanical fields is an asset.
- ABET/EAC certification and 309A Journeyman license are assets.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Valid Driver’s License with a suitable driving record.
- Physical ability to climb wind turbines (300+ feet) and lift/move equipment (50+ pounds).
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with computer and digital tools, including mobile apps, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and report writing.
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
- Customer-focused with professional conduct on-site and within the community.
- Willingness to travel within the designated territory and work overtime or on-call as needed.
- Passionate about renewable energy and committed to safety.
