The Clinical Therapist is a member of the Virtual Crisis Assessment Team Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Therapist provides assessment, planning & connection to local services. The Clinical Therapist carries out the general duties of the Virtual Crisis Assessment Team but in addition to those duties, participates in quality initiatives in the program of care, engages in collaborative person‑centred care, and utilizes available information technology to support best practice. The Clinical Therapist receives and provides supervision and mentorship as part of a community of practice. It is an expectation that the Clinical Therapist will act in a professional and ethical manner, following all recognized codes of ethics, standards, legislation, and guidelines relevant to clinical practice and profession. They will convey respect and a solid understanding of subtle and complex diversity and inclusion issues as they relate to specific groups.
This position will be providing virtual (via phone/zoom) mental health crisis assessment support to Northern zone emergency departments. This is a work from home opportunity and applicants can reside in any location throughout Nova Scotia. This position will also support the police consultation line with CIT trained police officers to improve collaboration, coordination and communication between and among MHA and policing agencies. Shift schedules will be coordinated on a quarterly basis with hours of operation between 3-10 pm (Monday-Friday) 9am – 10pm Saturday – Sunday & Holidays.

Minimum two (2) years of licensed clinical experience required. If not available, candidates with less than two (2) years of licensed experience may be considered for the selection process. If offered employment, they will be placed on the Clinical Therapist (Developmental) scale.

Clinical Therapist $42.21 - $58.30 hourly
Clinical Therapist (Developmental) $37.64 - $49.94 hourly
