Job summary
A forestry management company in New Brunswick is seeking a Class 1 driver to transport seedlings to planting sites. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record, and experience operating commercial vehicles. This role offers home every night, competitive compensation, and seasonal or year-round work opportunities. You'll conduct vehicle maintenance to ensure readiness. Irving Woodlands is JDI's division dedicated to overseeing sustainable forest management, research and conservation, and protection of our forests. We operate 2 nurseries that are home to a world leading level of technology and innovation (located in Juniper and Sussex New Brunswick), producing 28 million seedlings annually.
We are currently looking for a motivated individual(s) to join us as a Class 1 driver to deliver seedlings to our planting sites across Maine, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensing & Experience– Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record and proven experience operating commercial vehicles. Experience with a self-loader and/or knuckle boom crane is required.
- Safety-first mindset– Strong understanding of road safety and off-road vehicle operation.
- Pride in Work– Successful individual(s) will have an excellent work ethic and take pride in basic upkeep of assigned units.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and travel to remote locations.
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Home every night– Be home every night, improved work/life balance then long haul
- Seasonal or year-round work– Seedling delivery is from April to October; year-round work is available for the right candidate hauling forest products.
- Well Maintained Equipment– Minimal downtime, with a newer fleet of trucks and trailers.
