As a Senior Project Manager you'll report to the Director, Product Delivery and Administration and be part of the team delivering changes to products created/managed by CIBC Global Asset Management. This delivery team’s primary focus is executing the strategic business roadmap and driving continuous improvement in daily processes.
The team supports the creation and management of products for Institutional channels, as well as Mutual Funds, Alternative Products, ETFs and Managed Solutions for proprietary and third party channels. Each team member acts as a business representative speaking on behalf of the broad product team.
Accountabilities include overall responsibility for end-to-end project management throughout the project life cycle from initial planning and execution to final implementation of desired changes, following CIBC enterprise delivery standards. This role requires both project management and business analysis capabilities/acumen. For larger projects, this role would be working with a dedicated business consultant from the team. For smaller projects, this role may be solely responsible for both project management and business analysis activities.

Project Management - Plan and monitor critical activities to ensure timely delivery. Define scope of deliverables. Assembling project team and kicking off a project. Complete risk assessments and manage mitigation strategies. Obtain appropriate internal resource assignments, including vendor resources. Analyze and document business requirements. Plan and support technology changes including testing, triage, etc. Identifying and resolving issues, escalating as appropriate. Managing project budgets. Providing status updates to project team and senior leadership. Project Coordination – Proactively identify and mitigate risks.
Business Analysis - Develop efficient solutions that enhance or streamline existing processes. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Conduct cost-benefit analyses. Ensure alignment with industry, financial, and regulatory standards. Ensure creation of detailed business requirements, process flows, use cases, etc. Support and review User Acceptance Testing strategies. Facilitate change management, including training and communications
Collaboration - Support partners in decision-making and mentor team members
Communication – Share ideas clearly and build consensus
Relationship building – Establish trust with business and technology partners. Train and mentor colleagues.
You can demonstrate your experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing medium to large scale projects with multiple stakeholders. Strong understanding of project management practices and principles. Working knowledge of mutual fund products and how they operate within the industry. You understand financial services practices and principles. Strong business acumen. Able to assess issues and take appropriate actions. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills which are audience appropriate. Excellent organizational skills. Able to manage schedules and balance priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Teams, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio. Relationship-driven and collaborative; values diversity and inclusion.
