PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Play a vital role in keeping our railroad operations running smoothly by managing the flow of essential materials and supplies. In this dynamic role, you’ll oversee receiving, warehousing, issuing, and shipping activities, ensuring every item is where it needs to be—on time and in perfect condition. Using SAP and other digital tools, you’ll maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate the timely picking and shipping of materials to customer locations, all while meeting strict schedules and quality standards.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Receive and issue materials manually or electronically, maintaining accurate bin locations and stock counts
  • Verify and ensure accuracy of all incoming shipments from suppliers, shops, and other stores
  • Prepare materials for shipment, completing all required documentation (labels, postal forms, waybills, shipping documents)
  • Load and unload materials from rail cars, trailers, and trucks; secure shipments using appropriate equipment to prevent damage in transit.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating condition; report hazards immediately for corrective action
  • Comply with WHMIS and TDG regulations when handling, shipping, or receiving materials.
  • Complete and update all required files and documentation for Stores operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area at all times
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or general equivalency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete formal forklift training program given by qualified trainer and have passed all examinations associated with training
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience; ability to operate material handling equipment is an asset
  • Proficient with computerized inventory systems (SAP, Excel, MERLIN)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs following proper training and written instructions.
  • Available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
