An educational institution in Manitoba seeks a Food Coordinator responsible for implementing nutrition programming, preparing high-quality meals, and maintaining safe food handling standards. Ideal candidates will have experience in food preparation for large groups, proven record-keeping skills, and the ability to engage with children in a culturally sensitive manner. The role involves managing food supplies and maintaining kitchen facilities in compliance with public health guidelines, making it essential to uphold rigorous food safety standards.
Food Coordinator - 4.0 hours per day
Under the direction of the Principal and/or designate and the divisional Nutrition Program Coordinator, the food coordinator is responsible for implementing the school's nutrition programming. This includes preparing breakfast, lunch and/or snack. It also includes maintaining kitchen spaces and food storage areas in compliance with safe food handling practices. Other duties include ordering food and supplies, inventory management, maintaining accurate records, and compiling program data for reporting. The food coordinator is expected to prepare high quality, nutritious foods in accordance with Canada's Food Guide, Manitoba's Healthy Food in Schools policy, and the new National School Food Policy. The successful candidate will value and uphold rigorous food safety standards while receiving, preparing, and serving food, as well as when maintaining nutrition spaces.
