Title: Community Coordinator, Child and Youth Care
Salary: $66,597 - $83,246 - $91,571 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Term until May 2026
Hours: 37.5 hours (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Quinsam or Port Hardy, BC, located on the unceded ancestral territories of the Kwakwaka’wakw Nations - Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy.
About The Role
As Community Coordinator, Child and Youth Care, you will support First Nations communities and our Mental Health Team in implementing impactful initiatives under the Aboriginal Youth Suicide Prevention Strategy (NAYSPS). Working closely with First Nations organizations, you’ll contribute to community-based and sub-regional projects that promote mental health and resilience among Indigenous youth, helping to create safe, supportive environments across communities.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have/be –
Education And Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or Psychology
- 1-2 years of related experience (3-4 years preferred), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and organizations, and/or interacting with children, youth, and families.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of First Nations cultural principles, BC health systems, and community-based planning and child/youth care systems.
- Knowledge and experience in program planning, implementation, management, and evaluation, with a focus on community-based health and suicide prevention practices.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex information to support problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
