BGC Okanagan is hiring a Child Care Worker (PAL) for our Penticton Club! Join our school-age childcare team and be part of a fun, engaging program that provides a safe and supportive environment. In this role, you will guide children through meaningful activities, build positive relationships, and help create a welcoming space where every child feels a sense of belonging.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for caring, nurturing, supervision and safety of children (6 – 12 years old).
  • Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
  • Use Club Vans to drop off and pick up children from school and transport to various sites for recreational purposes.
  • Recruits, selects, dismisses, orients, trains, monitors and provides support to program volunteers.
  • Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program in external events.
  • Establish open communication with parents/care givers.
  • Ensure that specific goals of children and program are met.
  • Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures, program standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing regulations, risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met
  • Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
Qualifications
  • A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age (as per Provincial Licensing Standards)
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain)
  • Class 4 Driver’s Licence
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check
