A community support organization in Hamilton is seeking a dedicated individual to provide support in a youth shelter for those aged 16-21. The ideal candidate will have a relevant post-secondary education and experience working with homeless youth. Responsibilities include supporting clients' personal goals and participating in health and safety programs. This part-time role includes various shift hours including weekends.
Hours of Work: Part-Time staff hours include rotating shifts (days, afternoons, nights), 2 shifts on weekends and stat holidays.
How You Will Make an Impact
Youth Services Notre dame House provides shelter to youth experiencing homelessness. Notre Dame house is a youth shelter for youth 16-21. The 21-bed youth shelter, provides support to youth who are homeless, including youth who have ongoing contact or involvement with CAS/CCAS/Probation/Youth Justice System/ AY/ADGS and other family counseling agencies.
Staff members support clients to reach personal goals and to have a satisfying and meaningful life in the community. The successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for participating in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs, procedures and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd.
