A regional health authority in Winnipeg is seeking a Spine Neurosurgeon to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, with responsibilities in teaching and research. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced neurosurgeons and may be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba. Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9), Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), The University of Manitoba, and Department of Surgery are inviting applications for a Spine Neurosurgeon to commence on September 1, 2025 (or on a mutually agreed date). The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care with responsibilities in diagnosis, treatment, prescribing medications and tests, and consultation with other physicians; this constitutes 75% of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher) and will be a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, comprising 25% of the position. Duties are required in English.
The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to further undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and tertiary care medicine. The program includes a mix of emergent and elective Neurosurgery. Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg provides comprehensive Neurosurgical care to a population base of 1.5 million people.
Compensation is a mix of fee-for-service income and funding as per the Doctor’s Manitoba agreement. Specialty Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.
