Flexible work options are available, subject to an approved telework agreement; Hybrid work is available for employees residing within the Vancouver, Coast and Mountains (VCM) region and enables employees to telework from their home up to 3 days a week with in office days on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The People and Development team provides human resources support through people-centered programs, recruitment services, policies, processes, and projects that align with Destination BC’s strategic priorities and those of the BC Public Service Agency. The team leads the design and delivery of organization-wide initiatives focused on attraction and retention, leadership and learning, succession planning, workforce development, employee engagement, health and safety, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Reporting to the Manager, People and Development, the Coordinator delivers general HR services to support Destination BC’s operations. This role actively contributes to team initiatives, supports special projects, and serves as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR.
The Coordinator provides technical and system support, including time and pay portal guidance, produces ad-hoc HR reports, and recommends improvements to People and Development policies, procedures, and programs. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data and HR files, requiring a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
As a key point of contact for employees, prospective candidates, and the BC Public Service Agency, the Coordinator builds strong, collaborative relationships and develops a solid understanding of human resource practices in a unionized environment, including the application of collective agreements.
