GLOCAL’s innovative ONLINE VOLUNTEERING program enables Canadians to engage in remote volunteering with 1500+ peers nationwide, at their own pace.

How does Our Online Volunteer Program Work?

1. Visit our GLOCAL website and fill out the application form;
2. Join an Orientation Session (twice daily during weekdays) and discuss your plan with GLOCAL track managers:

Choose one or more tracks of your interest and apply them in community service and civic knowledge mobilization:

• Research
• Data
• Social Media & Communications
• Digital Products & Services
• Community Outreach
• Compliance

1. Choose a volunteering plan:

• 5 hours per YEAR
• 5 hours per MONTH
• 5 hours per WEEK

Note: The specified hours are approximate and flexible. Volunteers can work more or fewer hours. Actual hours will be recognized accordingly.

Start volunteering at your own pace, apply for microgrants (if eligible), and join workshops and networking events.

Funded in part by ESDC, this program supports youth in designing research, videos, interviews, or digital projects promoting civic engagement. For 2024-2025, 160 grants (up to $5,000) will be awarded.

GLOCAL Foundation of Canada (www.glocalfoundation.ca) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to digital civic engagement, fostering civic participation and inclusive discourse across Canada. Our team speaks over 20 languages and promotes diverse perspectives.

• Gather, enter, and analyze data on political representatives at the municipal level.
• Research local issues, provincial policies, and regional politics.
• Create infographics and short videos for social causes.
• Support community engagement and outreach efforts.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for creative writing, community engagement, and partnership development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Intercultural understanding.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork and independence skills.
• Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.

Volunteers will work closely with GLOCAL’s executive team, receiving ongoing support, mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth, including weekly meetings and career guidance.
