This is a hands‑on role that combines technical, editorial and creative skills to deliver compelling, accessible content across core platforms. Working closely with colleagues across the organization, the Digital Communications Lead helps identify opportunities to better engage members and build strong, sustainable digital foundations for NNPBC’s work.

This is an exciting time to join NNPBC’s Communications and Engagement team as we prepare to launch a new website, advance a redesigned membership experience, and roll out a refreshed brand this Spring.

Reports to: Director, Communications & Engagement

Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Salary Range: $67,000‑$72,000 annually, with extended health and dental benefits, enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan, and a professional development fund.
Applications open: please apply by Friday February 6 at 2:00pm PST
Desired Start Date: late March 2026

Key Responsibilities
  • Digital Channel Management: Website content management: maintained editorial oversight of the website, publishing and updating content in NNPBC’s CMS and working with staff across the organization to keep information current and relevant.
  • Email marketing: Plan, build and deliver email communications using an email marketing platform, including basic segmentation, list maintenance and performance reporting.
  • Social media: Manage social media channels, including planning and scheduling posts, developing marketing campaigns and engaging with audiences.
  • Content development: Create engaging multi‑format content (i.e. blog posts, graphics, videos, etc.) that help profile organizational stories and priorities for all digital channels.
  • Analytics: Monitor and report on digital performance using analytics tools, translating insights into practical recommendations to improve reach and engagement.
  • Issue monitoring: Track digital communications across relevant organizations and sectors to identify emerging issues and content to amplify.
Branding and Accessibility
  • Brand and style standards: Apply and help maintain NNPBC’s brand and style guides across digital content, and support staff in using them consistently.
  • Accessible and inclusive content: Use and promote plain and inclusive language and accessible communication practices.

  • Member and event communications: Partner with the Manager, Membership and Engagement to plan and deliver clear, timely communications that support member engagement and participation in events.
  • Virtual events: Support the planning and delivery of Zoom‑based events, including promotion, live delivery and follow‑up communications.
  • Learning and career content: Help develop, publish and maintain web‑optimised professional development and career resources, including NNPBC’s job board.
Coordination and Additional Duties
  • Communications intake and tracking: Maintain and improve systems for receiving, prioritising and tracking communications requests.
  • Project coordination: Support timelines, work plans, budgets and vendor coordination for communications projects.
  • Team support: Provide flexible support across communications initiatives during busy periods or special projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in communications, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience working with digital platforms, including:
  • A content management system (CMS), ideally WordPress, to publish and maintain web content.
  • An email marketing platform such as Mailchimp to build, send and analyse communications.
  • Social media publishing and scheduling tools.
  • Analytics tools such as Google Analytics and native platform insights.
  • Proven ability to manage and improve digital channels, including websites and social media, using sound editorial judgement and an understanding of audience needs.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience creating clear, engaging and values‑aligned content across formats.
  • Solid organisational and project coordination skills, including experience supporting timelines and working with external partners or vendors.
  • A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, including the use of plain‑language and accessible communication practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, take a solutions‑oriented approach and navigate challenges proactively and constructively.
Desired Qualifications
  • Skilled in using design tools such as Canva or Adobe to create and adapt visual content for digital channels.
  • Experience working in a professional association, non‑profit or values‑driven organization.
  • Understanding of or strong interest in health care, nursing and the professional issues affecting nurses in British Columbia.
  • Experience working in a small, fast‑moving environment, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt as needs evolve.

Join us in shaping the future of nursing in BC. We want to hear from you if you are a dynamic professional passionate about elevating the largest healthcare group in BC.

Please apply by Friday February 6 at 2:00pm PST with:

  • An up‑to‑date resume, including a link to your LinkedIn profile where possible, and

We value meaningful dialogue and the opportunity to explore how candidates would approach different aspects of the role and draw on their experience. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a second round of interviews shortly after the first round.

The desired start date for this role is end of March.

If you feel that you could excel in this position, but do not necessarily meet the formal requirements, we’d still love to hear from you. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, including those from equity‑deserving and under‑represented groups.

We value the time and effort applicants invest in the process and will carefully review all submissions. Thank you for considering joining us in the work of NNPBC – we look forward to the possibility of working together!
