About NNPBC

Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of British Columbia (NNPBC) is the professional association representing all four nursing designations in BC: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs). We support nurses across the province by promoting excellence in nursing practice and advancing the role of nursing in health care, policy and system transformation.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Engagement, the Digital Communications Lead strengthens how NNPBC connects with and supports its members through digital channels, including the website, email and social media. This is a hands‑on role that combines technical, editorial and creative skills to deliver compelling, accessible content across core platforms. Working closely with colleagues across the organization, the Digital Communications Lead helps identify opportunities to better engage members and build strong, sustainable digital foundations for NNPBC’s work.

This is an exciting time to join NNPBC’s Communications and Engagement team as we prepare to launch a new website, advance a redesigned membership experience, and roll out a refreshed brand this Spring.

Location: Remote, anywhere in British Columbia, with occasional in‑person and travel requirements
Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Salary Range: $67,000‑$72,000 annually, with extended health and dental benefits, enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan, and a professional development fund.

Key Responsibilities
  • Digital Channel Management: Website content management: maintained editorial oversight of the website, publishing and updating content in NNPBC’s CMS and working with staff across the organization to keep information current and relevant.
  • Email marketing: Plan, build and deliver email communications using an email marketing platform, including basic segmentation, list maintenance and performance reporting.
  • Social media: Manage social media channels, including planning and scheduling posts, developing marketing campaigns and engaging with audiences.
  • Content development: Create engaging multi‑format content (i.e. blog posts, graphics, videos, etc.) that help profile organizational stories and priorities for all digital channels.
  • Analytics: Monitor and report on digital performance using analytics tools, translating insights into practical recommendations to improve reach and engagement.
  • Issue monitoring: Track digital communications across relevant organizations and sectors to identify emerging issues and content to amplify.
Branding and Accessibility
  • Brand and style standards: Apply and help maintain NNPBC’s brand and style guides across digital content, and support staff in using them consistently.
  • Accessible and inclusive content: Use and promote plain and inclusive language and accessible communication practices.
Member Engagement, Learning and Events
  • Member and event communications: Partner with the Manager, Membership and Engagement to plan and deliver clear, timely communications that support member engagement and participation in events.
  • Virtual events: Support the planning and delivery of Zoom‑based events, including promotion, live delivery and follow‑up communications.
  • Learning and career content: Help develop, publish and maintain web‑optimised professional development and career resources, including NNPBC’s job board.
Coordination and Additional Duties
  • Communications intake and tracking: Maintain and improve systems for receiving, prioritising and tracking communications requests.
  • Project coordination: Support timelines, work plans, budgets and vendor coordination for communications projects.
  • Team support: Provide flexible support across communications initiatives during busy periods or special projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in communications, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience working with digital platforms, including:
  • A content management system (CMS), ideally WordPress, to publish and maintain web content.
  • An email marketing platform such as Mailchimp to build, send and analyse communications.
  • Social media publishing and scheduling tools.
  • Analytics tools such as Google Analytics and native platform insights.
  • Proven ability to manage and improve digital channels, including websites and social media, using sound editorial judgement and an understanding of audience needs.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience creating clear, engaging and values‑aligned content across formats.
  • Solid organisational and project coordination skills, including experience supporting timelines and working with external partners or vendors.
  • A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, including the use of plain‑language and accessible communication practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, take a solutions‑oriented approach and navigate challenges proactively and constructively.
Desired Qualifications
  • Skilled in using design tools such as Canva or Adobe to create and adapt visual content for digital channels.
  • Experience working in a professional association, non‑profit or values‑driven organization.
  • Understanding of or strong interest in health care, nursing and the professional issues affecting nurses in British Columbia.
  • Experience working in a small, fast‑moving environment, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt as needs evolve.
