The Social Work Professional Practice Leader (PPL) is responsible for the leadership of professional practice in the Social Work discipline. The PPL is accountable for the development, implementation and maintenance of professional practice standards within a program-based structure. The PPL acts as a consultant to frontline professionals and management with respect to professional practice issues in order to promote client and recovery-focused care within an inter‑professional team environment. The PPL is responsible for leadership in professional development, quality improvement and research activities. The PPL liaises with education institutions, regulatory bodies, and professional associations including The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the Ontario Association of Social Workers, the Canadian Association of Social Workers, and other appropriate groups to ensure appropriate structures are in place to support excellence in professional practice. The PPL is a mentor and role model demonstrating the values and mission of Providence Care.
