Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator
The Human Resources Coordinator is a vital member of the HR team at the Capilano Group of Companies (CGC), which includes properties such as Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Stanley Park Pavilion, Prospect Point, Moraine Lake Lodge, Cathedral Mountain Lodge, and future acquisitions. This role supports all HR aspects across the organization, including recruitment, onboarding, training, health and safety, performance management, employee engagement, HR administration, and policy development. Reporting to the HR Manager, the Coordinator collaborates with departmental leaders to uphold CGC's core values and mission.
The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in HR practices, capable of managing diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment, friendly, approachable, and eager to grow in their HR career.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Manage recruitment processes, including posting jobs, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating with department heads.
- Complete reference checks and oversee hiring events and job fairs.
- Ensure smooth onboarding for new employees, including uniform management.
- Employee Relations:
- Address workplace concerns and guide managers and employees on policies and laws.
- Maintain employee records and generate reports.
- Performance Management:
- Support performance reviews, goal setting, and training needs assessment.
- Training & Development:
- Coordinate and deliver training programs and orientation sessions.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning.
- Employee Engagement:
- Participate in event planning, manage employee recognition activities, and support marketing promotions.
- HR Administration:
- Assist in policy manual updates, ensure compliance with employment laws, and maintain HRIS and employee files.
- Support scheduling software and perform general administrative duties.
- Health & Safety:
- Participate in the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee, complete required training, and promote safety initiatives.
- Assist with incident reporting and safety equipment management.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years HR experience.
- Diploma in HR Management or related field preferred.
- Experience in guest service environment is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with knowledge of employment laws.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
- Availability for shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical activity and varied weather conditions may be encountered.
- Off-site work at Stanley Park Pavilion once a week and occasional travel for meetings and site visits.
Salary:
$62,000 - $64,000 annually plus benefits and perks.
