Logistics Coordinator

Overview

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Logistics Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Operations Manager and Project Administrator with crew rotations and scheduling for Bridgemans vessels, ensuring transportation logistics are organized efficiently and in a cost-effective manner, and are communicated to team members.
  • Support the Project Administrator in facilitating onboarding and offboarding formalities for team members across the project, including documentation, site access requirements, uniform issuance/collection, etc.
  • Oversee operations at the Richmond and Vancouver operations areas, coordinating with all stakeholders, ensuring that service and logistics is provided according to contract and to Bridgemans service standards.
  • Maintain reports, logs and paperwork according to the Operations Manager's direction, performing periodic reviews to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate the movement of passenger and supply vessels according to schedule, anticipating the needs of team members and clients.
  • Arrange for the receipt and shipment of goods and supplies to both the Richmond and Vancouver operations areas, keeping budgets and logistical efficiencies in the forefront.
  • Identify potential problems, conflicts, and technical delays, presenting solutions for rectification.
  • Ensure that materials are supplied, and assigned tasks are completed in the allotted time.
  • Support the Bridgemans Construction team by supervising and ensuring that work is meeting the provided quality and safety standards.
  • The procurement and delivery of equipment and materials for Bridgemans vessels, acting as the primary contact for suppliers.
  • Present construction project reports to the project team as required.
  • Practice and maintain the highest level of health, safety, environmental, and quality practices, according to Bridgemans safety management system.
  • Manage the reporting process with on-site subcontractors during the construction phase.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations related to crew management, transportation, and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Project Administrator/Coordinator (or similar role) will be an added on.
  • Valid British Columbia Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract is a must
  • Exceptional comprehension and command of the English language (written and verbal)
  • Highly organized and able to work independently, with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive interactions with fellow team members, clients, and vendors
  • Valid Forklift Operator Certification is a must
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian marine industry is an asset
  • Marine and/or construction experience is an asset
  • Valid STCW95 certification will be an add on (VI/1, 2 & 6)
