The Opportunity
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the ongoing process of improvement opportunities. This includes identifying and nominating projects, gathering and analyzing information, developing and communicating recommendations, and the flawless implementation of projects within the organization.
The Team
The role will report to the Senior Director of Canadian Manufacturing and is expected to have up to 3 direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Be an active change agent within the division by cultivating a Lean thinking culture
- Coach department leaders through the development of a model line using value stream analysis, cascaded down to the floor-based improvement initiatives, in order to meet business challenges
- Develop lean depth capability by training and coaching department leaders in the organization’s methods and scientific thinking
- Achieve sustainment of gains through coaching leaders to own and deploy daily management systems, including leadership standard work
- Develop capability of lean team members across the division in order to become future coaches and leaders of the organization
- Ensure operations move toward a problem solving and daily execution culture
- Monitor and report on the progress of improvement projects
- Use data analysis to measure performance metrics and assess current processes
- Collaborate across all departments and ensure regular interaction with all levels of leadership
- Presents, educates, and facilitates to all levels in the organization as well as to external audiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- 5-7 years' related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to interact with customers
- Pride in workmanship
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work within a team and individually
- Meticulous care and attention to detail
