Our facility in Mississauga is looking for a Maintenance / Refrigerator Operator (Class A) to join the team!

Position: Maintenance / Refrigeration Operator (Class A)

Location: 2095 Meadowvale Blvd. Mississauga, ON.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures daily inspection of the refrigeration plants that all systems are operating in a safe and expected manner; monitor system performance
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of refrigeration equipment for the bakery
  • Maintain and ensure total awareness of and compliance to all Safety regulatory legislation through TSSA
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Ensures the recording of data and all relevant information to the operation of the bakery and maintain history of all critical equipment
  • Perform scheduled Freon leak checks and report any leaks found, complete online records
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies and/or equipment failures in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain refrigeration spare parts inventory, including Freon levels
  • Maintain good housekeeping within the engine room including 5S
  • Coordinate with leadership, operations, sanitation, maintenance and health & safety teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the bakery / plant
Requirements
  • Valid Ontario Refrigeration Operator Class A (TSSA)
  • Experience in food-processing, cold storage and/or manufacturing is required
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with industrial refrigerants (ammonia, CO₂, etc.) and compliance standards
  • Willingness to work various shifts, emergency on-call and rotational duties
  • Good documentation and safety-conscious work ethic
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Work in industrial settings: cold storage rooms, engine rooms, compressor rooms, mechanical rooms, possibly in varying temperatures (cold, near freezers, etc.).
  • Ability to climb, access confined areas, work at heights, lift/move heavy equipment (pumps, valves, tools).
  • Proficient in using mechanical and power tools
  • Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE), safety protocols, lock-out / tag-out procedures.
