As our new Accounting Manager, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
We\'ll look to you to take on a significant role in the following areas :
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑Day Operations
- Lead and manage key core accounting functions including but not limited to: banking / treasury, A / P, employee expenses, GL reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany accounting (25+ related parties), leases, and month-end / year-end closings following IFRS
- Collaborate and support the Financial Controller with revenue (invoicing), WIP & A / R management
- Assist the FP&A accountant with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections, helping senior leadership navigate financial decisions with precision
- Assist the Financial Director to prepare and deliver various weekly, monthly and yearly financial statements and management reports
- Drive process improvements and system efficiencies, ensuring operational accuracy and consistency across finance
- Tax Compliance & Audit
- Manage monthly / yearly GST / HST, QST, NRWHT etc. filings
- Coordinate year-end corporate tax & SRED filings with external tax accountants; produce calculations to support claims
- Coordinate / manage the annual audit (interim and year-end) with a big 4 firm
- Acquisitions & Integration
- Support the Finance Director on financial due diligence on mergers and acquisitions, including target company financial assessment, integration planning, and post‑close reporting
- Coordinate accounting integration of newly acquired entities—ensuring seamless consolidation of systems, policies, and reporting
- Deltek Vantagepoint Oversight
- Provide expert support for the finance team in use of the ERP system Deltek Vantagepoint
- Serve as liaison with the business systems team to optimize configuration and troubleshoot issues
- Train and mentor team members on efficient Vantagepoint workflow and system best practices
- Team Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop 2 to 3 direct reports, oversee workload allocation, performance evaluations, and professional growth
- Provide training, technical guidance, and career development support

- The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications / Education / Memberships
- 5+ years of post‑designation experience (Canadian CPA)
- Proven background in financial close and general ledger management, budgeting, and financial statement preparation, ideally in companies at or above ~$100M in revenue
- Experience in supervising and mentoring a small team
- Involvement in one or more acquisitions—hands‑on experience with due diligence, integration, or consolidation accounting a plus
- Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint is a strong asset; understanding accounting system configurations
- Strong technical competency in Excel; familiarity with reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience working in professional services or project-based type companies is a strong asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—comfortable interacting with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance, and IFRS
