The salary range for this position is CAD $49.20/Hr. - CAD $63.47/Hr.

The RN-RPN Clinical Mentor, LTC and/or Mental Health role functions as an experienced clinical mentor, resource, and champion in the delivery of excellent client care to nurses and other team members. Working in conjunction with nurse educators, provides rapid elbow-to-elbow clinical mentorship and practice support for nursing staff. Utilizes experience and clinical skills to function as a clinical resource to formally advise other nursing staff in nursing practice, provides clinical instruction and supports staff training and development. Takes on a leadership role in performing functions such as mentoring staff to support skills development, and supporting clinical practice initiatives.

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Three (3) years of relevant clinical nursing practice experience in the designated practice area including experience mentoring nursing staff as well as leadership training or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to personal vehicle may be required.

• Demonstrated ability to provide clinical mentorship and clinical practice support.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family centered model of care.
• Ability to provide consultation, direction, and leadership.
• Ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate, mentor, and coach.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of clinical practice standards, guidelines, and care pathways.
• Understanding of other health care disciplines and their roles in patient care.
• Effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Conflict resolution skills.
• Critical thinking skills for patient care.
• Leadership skills to support change and transition.
• Application of evidence-informed practices in assessment and treatment.
• Ability to promote a supportive learning environment and engage in quality improvement.
• CPR certification.
• Proficiency with computerized care information systems and office software.
