The Role
Reporting directly to the Project Executive, you will oversee daily project implementation, managing staff including but not limited to the Project Controls Manager(s), Project Field Manager(s), and Project Coordinator(s).
Responsibilities
- Manage project design, construction, and other owner-direct contracts, including agreements with architects, contractors, and consultants.
- Monitor project budget and schedule compliance.
- Conduct regular meetings with the client’s representatives to review project status, budget, and schedule, and prepare approval letters for any changes.
- Establish effective working protocols with ICON staff, design teams, construction teams, and stakeholders.
- Create a positive environment to mitigate issues affecting project success.
- Develop and manage value engineering processes, ensuring integration into final design documents.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly reports, coordinating with the client on content and format.
- Assist in finalizing construction costs, including reviewing and negotiating the GMP.
- Develop RFP processes for sub-consultants and vendors.
- Attend and facilitate regular meetings with owners, architects, and contractors regarding schedule, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and quality control.
- Manage design team efforts to meet delivery dates, scope, and quality standards.
- Oversee construction progress and quality control on-site.
- Track use of allowances and contingencies.
- Analyze change order requests and respond to delays, extensions, and additional services, negotiating terms as needed.
- Review and approve contractor’s monthly pay applications.
- Monitor construction submittals and coordinate procurement and installation schedules for FFE equipment.
- Assist in obtaining permits, approvals, and monitor progress toward occupancy certificates.
- Facilitate venue commissioning and ensure ICON staff are adequately resourced and equipped.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture, real estate, or related experience of 7-10+ years on major projects.
- Knowledge of CSI division structure, change orders, budget formats, and architectural/engineering plans.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Project preferred.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and quickly learn new concepts.
- Willingness to provide on-site representation and travel as needed.
Compensation
The annual salary ranges from $142,000 CAD to $184,000 CAD, with benefits and discretionary bonuses. Wages vary based on experience, role, sector, and location. Please consult a CAA Recruiter for more details.
