Your Opportunity
As an Electrical Engineer in Training, you will interface directly with clients and stakeholders to manage project deliverables, focusing on quality and team collaboration. You will primarily work with our airports practice but also support interconnected sectors such as transportation, buildings, industrial, pipelines, and water. Airport experience is essential; however, a broad range of electrical engineering design experience across these sectors is advantageous.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Perform design tasks on assigned airport projects under supervision, including calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Interpret drawings, codes, and related materials.
- Design, supervise construction, and commission airport electrical infrastructure, including field electrical centers, regulators, cabling, kiosks, transformers, and systems.
- Design airfield installations such as ground lighting, approach lighting, signage, guidance systems, and floodlighting.
- Conduct field work as directed by senior staff.
- Gather data to support design decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Basic knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD for drafting and design.
- Ability to collaborate within a project team and engage in creative and critical thinking.
- Understanding of local and federal design guidelines.
- Basic electrical engineering concepts and effective communication skills.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and building programs.
- Receptiveness to direction, process adherence, and feedback.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD; experience with AGI 32, Visual Lighting Software, SKM, Newforma is preferred.
- Practical experience with SKM, AGI32, and AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
- Registered EIT or eligible within 3 months.
- 0-4 years of experience; internship experience preferred.
- Experience with interdisciplinary civil and mechanical concepts is an asset.
