Job Title: Swim Instructor

Reports to: Deck Supervisor, Aquatics Manager, General Manager

Summary: Instruct students on water safety and swim techniques according to the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide swim instruction based on curriculum
• Enforce safety rules, prevent accidents, perform rescues, and administer first aid when needed
• Evaluate student progress and complete paperwork promptly
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student development
• Represent GSS positively to ensure parental satisfaction
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking to address student challenges
• Inspect pool areas for maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues and report as needed
• Ensure proper storage of equipment and manage lane lines
• Report accidents/incidents and complete documentation
• Perform Deck Teacher and Lifeguard duties as required
• Assist with light cleaning tasks
• Attend mandatory workshops and training outside regular hours
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Commit to at least 2 shifts per week, minimum 8 hours total
• High school diploma or GED preferred; experience as lifeguard, coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider required; at least 2 years as a swimming instructor
• Certifications: National Lifeguard, CPR-C, and First Aid required
• Work environment involves heat, humidity, and moderate noise levels
