Utilities around the world rely on our nuclear fuel products to generate safe, reliable, emissions‑free nuclear power. Cameco’s corporate office is based in Saskatoon. We have mining operations and projects in northern Saskatchewan, Kazakhstan, the United States and Australia. We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.

The Role

Working in Cameco’s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality department, this position will provide you with the opportunity for professional growth and ability to make a meaningful contribution in the safe and environmentally sound production of uranium, which is critical to fuelling the world’s transition to clean energy.

In this role, you will:
  • Join a multi‑disciplinary team of technical specialists providing geo‑environmental expertise to support tailings, waste rock, and water management activities at Cameco’s mining and milling operations.
  • Be based in Saskatoon with periodic work weeks in northern Saskatchewan‑based operations.
  • Perform engineering assessments, project management, development and oversight of engineering work scopes, operational and mine closure planning, and technical document preparation and presentation.
  • Use effective communication and collaboration skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with our operations teams, corporate office teams, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, geological, or environmental engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in a consulting or mining environment.
  • Technical experience with tailings, waste rock, water balances, geotechnical drilling investigations, civil design, and reclamation.
  • Proven capability producing well‑written reports and technical presentations.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation required and must be in good standing with the applicable provincial engineering association.
  • Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
Recommended:
  • Graduate level degree in a related discipline.
  • Working level knowledge of specialty software applications such as Surfer, GoldSim, EQuIS, Origin, ArcGIS, Slope/W, Seep/W, and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Pre‑employment substance test.
Cameco is proud to offer a competitive total reward package which includes:
  • Competitive compensation program with base and variable pay.
  • Flexible health, drug, dental, and vision plan with a health spending and personal spending account.
  • Fixed benefits including employee and dependant life, AD&D, disability benefits and paid vacation leave.
  • Employee & Family Assistance Programs.
  • RRSP and RPP matching program.
  • Career development opportunities.li>
  • Relocation costs.

Cameco is an employment equity employer and aims to achieve gender parity, and as such, preference will be given to qualified members of equity groups.
