• Implement, maintain and optimize processes utilizing established policy management to support backup, archival and file management through the data's lifecycle.
• Support established storage and file maintenance processes, which include: backup, migration, pervasive encryption, extent reduction, compression, expiry, and recycle.
• Support established storage management processes (electronic tape vaulting and tape replication).
• Monitor storage utilization thresholds to support space availability for data allocations and perform regular disk and tape maintenance functions (assignment of DASD and tape resources).
• Hygiene activities to maintain volume and storage group optimization.
• Support the deployment, maintenance and decommissioning of centrally managed storage hardware, media, firmware, subsystems and facilities.
• Maintain catalog structures and data facilities to ensure data accessibility, integrity and auditability.
• Perform library copies, volume copies, paging data set allocations/deletions/recoveries.
• Support disaster recovery initiatives and testing.
• Provide on call support on a rotating basis

• Experience with z/OS and mainframe technologies.
• Possess analytical and problem solving skills.
• Comfortable with working in a rapidly changing, technically complex environment.
• Proficiency in JCL.
• Experience with CA7, CA1, HSM, SMS, DFDSS, ISMF, TDMF, ZDMF.
• Proficiency with standard business desktop applications.

The following qualifications are considered assets:

• Experience in the use of the following Rocket products, CR+, MXI and HRM
• Knowledge in VSAM data set structures.
• SAS, REXX, CLIST coding skills.
• Knowledge of mainframe catalog structures
• Experience with Service Now and ITIL methodology.
• Experience with the Endevor process in relation to mainframe Canadian and US implementations.
