Job summary
A leading solutions firm in Toronto is seeking an AI Specialist to develop scalable computer vision solutions for marine monitoring. You will collaborate with technical teams to analyze underwater video, design detection models, and train deep learning systems. Applicants should have hands-on experience with frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, and be familiar with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with recent computer vision and deep learning frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of video analysis, object detection, and multi-class classification.
- Experience developing end-to-end ML solutions from data prep to deployment.
- Comfortable working with both annotated and unlabelled video data.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable solutions for a national marine monitoring platform.
- Design and implement computer vision models to detect and classify fish species.
- Process annotated and unannotated video datasets.
- Train, test, and evaluate deep learning models for object detection.
- Collaborate with marine scientists and software developers.
- Support deployment on cloud infrastructure.
Skills
We are seeking an AI Specialist with strong computer vision expertise to support a new initiative focused on automating the identification, profiling, and behavior analysis .
You’ll work closely with cross-functional technical and scientific teams to develop a scalable solution that will serve as the foundation for a national marine monitoring platform.
Design and implement computer vision models to detect and classify fish species and behaviors in underwater video.
Process both annotated and unannotated video datasets to prepare data pipelines.
Train, test, and evaluate deep learning models for object detection and activity recognition.
Collaborate with marine scientists and software developers to integrate AI models into broader platform architecture.
Support deployment on cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
Hands-on experience with recent computer vision and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV).
Strong knowledge of video analysis, object detection, and multi-class classification.
Experience developing end-to-end ML solutions, from data prep to deployment.
Comfortable working with both annotated and unlabelled video data.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
