Job Overview

Position Responsibilities
  • Assist the marketing group in a variety of data and modeling related tasks
  • Work with the optimization, lease, scheduling, settlement and quality groups to help efficiently manage the data flow of crude oil receipts and deliveries in Western Canada
  • Look into new and emerging technologies to help field and Calgary staff generate quality results in a more timely and accurate manner
  • Work with various members of the team building physical and financial models
  • Provide support with quality data gathering and management for marketing assets
  • Work with analytics to generate pricing information
  • Work with settlement on communicating the above information to generate invoices
  • Ad hoc analysis as required
Skills and Qualifications
  • Working towards a Commerce Degree (preferably Finance); Will also consider candidates withhumidity economics, Computer Science or Mathematics degree in progress. Preferably going into 3rd/4th/final year of university
  • Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel) skills required
  • AI, Machine Learning and Linear Programming/Convex Optimization skills considered an asset
  • Experience building financial models considered an asset
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Understanding of the fundamental principles of economic, financial and risk analysis
  • Strong business aptitude and an understanding of the crude oil and NGL business
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline driven work environment that requires accuracy and a keen attention to detail
