The Opportunity

The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) plays a critical role in bridging business strategy and technology delivery. This role focuses on a deep understanding of business challenges, regulatory and operational requirements, and translating them into clear, actionable requirements and solution designs for delivery teams. The SBA is a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring that technology solutions are driven by business value, practicality, and long-term organizational outcomes.

This role emphasizes business insight, problem-solving, and solution design, rather than hands-on technical implementation.

  • Analyze complex business problems and identify practical, value-driven solutions aligned with organizational objectives
  • Define future-state business processes, capabilities, and operating models
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements (e.g., business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria)
  • Ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with business priorities and constraints
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams
  • Translate business concepts, policies, and processes into technical items that development teams can understand and implement
  • Work collaboratively with architects, developers, and vendors to ensure business intent is accurately reflected in technical designs
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to elicit requirements and validate solutions
  • Challenge assumptions and help stakeholders clarify what problem they are truly trying to solve
  • Provide clear, concise recommendations to senior leaders, supported by analysis and business rationale
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by balancing business needs, timelines, risks, and delivery capacity
  • Ensure requirements are traceable to business outcomes and strategic objectives
  • Support business case development, cost-benefit analysis, and impact assessments
  • Validate delivered solutions against business requirements and expected outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, simplification, and efficiency

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience translating complex business problems into structured, actionable requirements
  • Strong understanding of business operations, process design, and organizational change
  • Exceptional ability to understand and articulate business needs, risks, and opportunities
  • Ability to design solutions that balance business value, practicality, and sustainability
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to influence without authority and build strong relationships across business and technology teams
  • Skilled facilitator of discussions involving diverse perspectives and competing priorities
