Overview

Speech-Language Pathologist - 1.0 FTE Permanent

Learning Services Special Education

Applications from permanent employees from within the PSSP Bargaining Unit other permanent Board employees as well as external applicants will be considered.

The WRDSB serves a student population of approximately 64,000. Successful candidates will join an expanding energetic and supportive department of Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants. Reporting through the Speech-Language Pathologist Lead to the Superintendent of Learning Services Special Education, the successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will have an opportunity to work collaboratively providing assessment, screening and consultation.

The Waterloo Region District School Board has an opening for a permanent 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) Speech-Language Pathologist starting September 2, 2025. A valid driver\'s license and access to a vehicle are required. Salary will follow the PSSP collective agreement with a range of $80,641 to $96,070 per annum prorated to FTE allocation.

Responsibilities
  • In-class observation modeling and small group instruction
  • Withdrawal for assessment or programming for individuals and groups
  • Development of strategies and materials to assist in implementation of programs
  • Meetings with other multidisciplinary or school-based teams to determine collaborative response to school referrals and needs
  • Respond to system demands in regard to staff development in-service and networking
Qualifications
  • must be registered with or be eligible for registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • a masters degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology
  • excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with school-aged children is preferred
  • Experience with providing virtual services is preferred
  • Use of personal vehicle
  • Valid driver\'s license
