Nous sommes actuellement à la recherche d’un spécialiste des essais haute tension pour notre division des réseaux électriques afin de se joindre à notre équipe de spécialistes des essais haute tension et d’effectuer des essais haute tension de transformateurs liquides de classe mondiale pour les grands marchés des transformateurs de puissance dans nos installations de Varennes, au Québec.

How You’ll Make an Impact / Comment vous aurez un impact
  • Prepare and update documents (test and safety procedures, checklists, training documents, etc.)

  • Ensure safety operation and maintenance of the test facility

  • Ensure all employees training, maintenance and calibrations are up to date (Receive latest training and be the trainer for the technicians)

  • Ensure to optimize test methods and tooling for each test and special tests

  • Assist the test manager and test engineers in continuous improvement projects such as refining test methods and tooling improvements

  • Coordinate between the production and the test lab to receive and return units and be the main liaison between the final assembly and expedition department

  • Assist in coordinating test failures between production and test departments and assist in general technical troubleshooting

  • Participate and support for investment projects and participating in T3 meetings

  • Assist team members in assignments of substantial variety and moderate complexity, assist in using test and laboratory equipment, instruments and controls. Coordinate work with other departments

  • Assist team members in operating test equipment and assist in performing tests in conjunction with the high voltage test engineers and test technicians

  • Participate in the witnessing of equipment commissioning and training. Ensure the transfer of knowledge of the test teams. Create training documents

  • Assist team members in operating cranes, sky jacks and cherry pickers

  • Assist team members in performing a variety of electrical tests including power factor, low and high-power tests, temperature rise, impulse, special, standard routine/type tests and calibrating instruments

  • Must have a high level of safety awareness and perform work in a safe manner

  • Assist team members in troubleshooting test equipment and apply own knowledge and experience towards the solution of problems, repairs or modifications

  • Available to work overtime as required, including weekends, evenings and nights. Working hours can typically be extended from 8 hours to 12 hours

  • Must complete all required training for working at height, LOTO, operating the transport with air cushions, cranes, lifts, skyjacks and cherry pickers

  • Assist team members in manipulating heavy and large ultra-high voltage equipment for each test set up. (Ultra-high voltage equipment including 2400 kV impulse generator setup, heavy cable and bus bar connections, working at heights for heavy cables, maintenance and cleaning of large equipment. These activities are performed strictly within the scope of transformer testing procedures and under defined safety protocols)

  • This position is part of the laboratory testing team and is focused on transformer validation. It does not involve manufacturing, assembly, or electrical installation work. The role is technical and analytical, aligned with quality assurance and product compliance functions

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Your Background / Votre parcours
  • University or technical electrical engineering degree or electrical/electronic program equal to a minimum two years of education is required.

  • 2 to 5 years of working high voltage testing listed, preferably in power transformers or knowledge/experience judged as relevant to the listed tasks.

  • Willing to spend time overseas to acquire further training in ultra-high voltage testing

  • Must have experience, skills, safety awareness and specific knowledge judged to be relevant to the critical tasks in an HV lab

  • Previous High Voltage test facility experience / knowledge and demonstrable history of safe working practices

  • Preferences will be given to individuals with previous High Voltage test facility experience / knowledge and demonstrable history of safe working practices and has over 10 years of experience in the transformer manufacturing environment or site commissioning/testing

  • Functional in both French and English preferred

  • Must be willing to learn to communicate in French and attend French courses sponsored by company

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada
