Job description

We are seeking a mechanically skilled Shop Hand to support shop operations involving pumps, hydraulics, and rotating equipment such as centrifuges. This role is intended for someone with hands‑on mechanical aptitude and fine motor skills. This is not a general labour role. The ideal candidate has prior mechanical exposure, can follow technical guidance, and is comfortable working with precision components under supervision

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $24–$26/hr (based on experience)
Location: Leduc

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist technicians with disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of pumps, hydraulic components, and rotating equipment
  • Perform bolting/unbolting, torqueing, and precision assembly using hand and power tools
  • Support maintenance and repair work involving hydraulics and mechanical systems
  • Handle parts carefully and maintain organization of components during teardown and rebuilds
  • Prepare tools, equipment, and work areas for mechanical jobs
  • Follow technical instructions, drawings, and guidance from senior technicians
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures and shop standards
Requirements
  • Mechanical aptitude with fine motor skills (hands‑on mechanical work required)
  • Previous experience working with mechanical assemblies, pumps, hydraulics, engines, or rotating equipment
  • Comfortable using wrenches, socket sets, torque tools, and precision hand tools
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under technical supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
