What is the opportunity?

RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) is the asset management division of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and includes leading money managers such as BlueBay Asset Management and Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management. RBC GAM provides global investment management services and solutions to institutional, high-net-worth (HNW), and individual investors through a diverse range of offerings, including separate accounts, pooled funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, exchange-traded funds, and specialty investment strategies.

As a part of the RBC GAM – Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) team, the Senior Manager, ETF Product Management you will lead new product management initiatives within the RBC GAM - Individual Investor Business (Canada). The RBC GAM – Exchange Traded Funds team is responsible for product development, management, and overall business management of the RBC Exchange Traded Fund family, available to Canadian investment advisors, individuals and institutional investors through the RBC iShares strategic alliance with BlackRock Canada.

What will you do?
  • Lead the creation of relevant product insights, stories and content that connect RBC ETFs with clients.
  • Craft compelling product positioning, messaging, and storytelling that differentiates our solutions in the marketplace.
  • Partner closely with Advisor Channel Sales, Investment Products Advisory Group and Marketing to develop high-quality educational and product support materials, including white papers, webinars, and digital content, to enhance client understanding of RBC ETF products and strategies.
  • Present and communicate ideas or proposals to a range of internal audiences, including management
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive positioning, and opportunities within the Canadian ETF landscape.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of RBC ETF products to ensure continued delivery on established value proposition, including pricing, performance and availability.
  • Manage reviews of the product suite, developing strategic recommendations for any restructuring, rationalization or new product launches.
  • Represent RBC GAM at industry conferences and events, delivering presentations and participating in discussions that establish the firm as a leader in ETF strategy and innovation
  • Enhance and evolve the product management discipline for RBC ETFs
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
  • 5+ years’ experience in an asset management context, ideally as a mutual fund or ETF product manager
  • Strong storyteller that can distill complex concepts into simple, concise, and compelling messages that resonate with target audiences
  • ETF market and industry knowledge, and ability to demonstrate this understanding in the creation and execution of product support materials
  • Self-starter with the ability and desire to build something from the ground up
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team of people across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to build relationships, credibility, and trust across a large organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively problem-solve, multi-task, and re-prioritize quickly.
  • Resourceful, critical thinker who can prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Strong strategic, analytical and problems solving skills
Nice to Have
  • B.A./B.S. in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other related field
  • Experience using analytical tools such as Morningstar Direct and/or Bloomberg
