Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Science and Technology team. You will play a critical role in delivering complex, high-value projects across specialized sectors such as laboratories, research facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and mission critical environments. You will lead the design of intricate electrical systems, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with all codes, standards, and client requirements. You will own the technical design process from concept through construction completion, participate in project planning and management meetings, assess design challenges, develop detailed specifications, review the work of junior engineers, sign off on complex engineering reports, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and guide project documentation to ensure technical soundness. This position suits an engineer who thrives on solving challenging technical problems, collaborates with clients and stakeholders, and delivers innovative, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions for cutting-edge facilities. Your leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to technical excellence will support projects that push the boundaries of science and technology.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Recognized technical subject matter expert within the organization.
  • Responsible for the technical design for complex projects, often involving multiple drawings, technical complexity, high project value, and multiple trades.
  • Assesses design constructability and develops design specification for complex designs.
  • Participates in project planning and project management meetings and provides improvement recommendations to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Regularly peer reviews work of more junior engineers.
  • Reviews and signs off on complex engineering reports and standards.
  • Completes project work on time and within budget.
  • Leads teams in the technical design of complex projects.
  • Accountable for all designs through to construction completion.
  • Ensures technical accuracy of all project files and documentation.
  • Other duties as required.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in engineering consulting, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Experience with mission critical or highly specialized facilities is an asset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design and documentation.
  • Innovative, forward-thinking mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and applying industry best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and quality control skills.
