About Aspire Training Academy

Aspire Training Academy is a Yellowknife-based non-profit dedicated to creating accessible, empowering learning opportunities for adults. We provide literacy, essential skills, computer training, and personal development workshops that build confidence and equip individuals to succeed in employment, post-secondary education, and everyday life.

Key Responsibilities

Program Facilitation & Support

Facilitate interactive, learner-centered workshops (topics include communication, goal setting, healthy living, financial literacy, and Microsoft Office basics).

Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Provide participant support during and after workshops as needed.

Program Administration & Coordination

Coordinate logistics such as venue booking, travel, supplies, and refreshments.

Maintain program records (intake forms, attendance, evaluations, and reports).

Track program progress and prepare summaries for the Executive Director.

Assist with event coordination such as community lunches, fairs, and graduation ceremonies.

Communications & Content Management

Draft, format, and schedule 2 social media posts per week across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram (using provided templates).

Record, upload, and schedule short-form videos / testimonials from staff, partners, or participants.

Maintain Aspire’s content calendar and media folders (photos, videos, testimonials).

Track engagement metrics and prepare a short monthly report on performance.

Website & Partner Engagement

Update Aspire’s website (SquareSpace) with upcoming programs, events, and news.

Maintain accurate partner profiles and testimonials.

Ensure smooth participant registration processes.

Manage Aspire’s partner mailing list and send monthly newsletters.

What We’re Looking For

Strong facilitation and group communication skills.

A compassionate, learner-centered approach to adult education.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Proficient with Microsoft 365, Zoom, email, and file management.

Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content scheduling.

Post-secondary education or relevant experience in social services, adult education, community development, or administration.

Experience in facilitation or workshop delivery considered a strong asset.

Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working with diverse groups.

Additional Requirements

Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.

Occasional evening / weekend work and travel to NWT communities may be required.
