Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a high-quality program, in line with Crayon Academy's Play Based curriculum, that supports and promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Maintain a high-quality program to meet the needs of our families and children, and provide an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
- Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or concerns with parents and other staff members.
- Maintain strong communication with parents, children, and other team members.
- Support children in developing self-help skills and independence.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
- Work in partnership to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom and materials.
To be successful you must have
- A passion for working with children and strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive team environment; maintain confidentiality for our families.
- Proficiency with attendance and documentation using timesaver-style apps, and comfort with computer and cell phone tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience in planning and implementing programs.
Experience and Qualifications
- We like to have 1 – 3 years experience in the child care field along with outstanding references. We will however support to train the right applicant.
- A Child Development Worker (Level 2) or Child Development Supervisor (Level 3) Certification, current Criminal Check & Vulnerable Sector Search, CPR with Level C First Aid.
- Salary posted is starting wage and changes with education, experience and performance.
