Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Plan and deliver high quality lessons in mathematics adhering to the curriculum and educational standards.
- Prepare instructional materials, assignments and assessments to ensure the development of students' mathematical skills and understanding.
- Use a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, group work and hands‑on activities to engage students and cater for diverse learning styles.
- Student Assessment and Feedback:
- Monitor and assess student progress through quizzes, tests, assignments and projects.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and grade assignments, projects and exams in a fair and consistent manner.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Set clear expectations for student behavior and academic performance.
- Manage classroom activities keeping students focused and engaged in the learning process.
- Student Support:
- Provide individual support and tutoring for students who need extra help.
- Encourage student participation, engagement and curiosity in the subject matter.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student performance and progress as needed.
- Professional Development:
- Stay updated on developments in mathematics and education through professional development opportunities.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops and conferences to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve the overall quality of the mathematics program.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades and progress.
- Participate in school activities such as parent‑teacher meetings, extracurricular events and school committees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in mathematics.
