Location of the role:

As part of the company’s expansion into Dubai (UAE), we are seeking a Settlements Analyst to join our growing team based in the DIFC. Currently, settlement operations are managed from London, United Kingdom, and as such, initial onboarding and training for the role will take place in London, involving two four-week stays. The company will cover all travel and accommodation expenses during this period.

While operations in Dubai are scaling, the successful candidate will also provide support to the UK settlements team with their daily tasks. Initially, working hours may be aligned with UK business hours to accommodate this.

The role will report directly to the Head of Settlements in London, with a dotted line to the Senior Executive Officer in Dubai. Given the small and expanding nature of both the Dubai and global settlements teams, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive, flexible approach, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities and the ability to seek assistance when necessary.

Responsibilities:
Reviewing net settlement figures against own calculations to highlight any discrepancies with liquidity providers
Analysing outstanding trade positions, identifying anomalies in trades before net settlement using Excel
Monitoring balances across different accounts, ensuring sufficient funds for trades, payments and safeguarding
Managing liquidity movement between settlement accounts and safeguard accounts
Settling matured foreign exchange positions, escalation of outstanding trades
Reconciliation of client trades and counterparty financial requirements in order to manage financial exposure;
Agreeing on daily settlement position with liquidity provider
Reconciliation of client fund & Safeguarded funds
Ensuring that all client fund liabilities are safeguarded within the designated safeguarded client accounts at all times, with appropriate reconciliations/rational in place for any timing differences.
Monitoring overall liquidity position
Releasing approved onward payments
Interface with Account Managers / Compliance team and external banking partners to resolve the transfer of fund challenges
Monitoring forwards for margin call

Requirements:

Strong excel proficiency
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively
Strong numerical, problem solving and analytical skills, tech savvy
Punctual and precise with a high attention to detail
Proficient in excel
Self motivated & a fast learner
FX and Settlements experience desired
