JOB Summary
The logistics coordinator is responsible for the movement of domestic and international goods in compliance with local and international law.
Requires knowledge of all possible movement constraints for Ocean, Air, or Land transport modes, including hazardous movements. Coordinates pre-shipping instructions and collaborates with service providers on movements. Manages orders for cargo shipment from origin to destination to ensure timely delivery via the most efficient method, while maintaining communication with customers to keep them informed of progress.
Maintains all shipping files according to requirements. Gathers data on service provider performance and analyzes short-term business needs to plan shipment movements. Uses logistics systems to perform duties and ensure accurate, timely transactions. Records data to identify trends and improve logistics services for economic benefit. Handles packing, marking, labeling, and measuring cargo to ensure accurate weight and dimensions. Tasks impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations. Assists Finance & Accounting with rate and charge validation on invoices.
