Our client’s Microsoft Business Solutions team is a Microsoft Gold Partner and leader in Microsoft software implementations for medium to large organisations, providing their clients with the ability to keep up with the ever-changing digital world by implementing Microsoft’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Engagement (CE) software from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) software line.

Role overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and talented Data Solution Architect to help grow our data delivery team. This role involves architecting, designing, and implementing large-scale Data Platform, Business Intelligence (BI), and Analytics solutions for clients.

The role is highly technical, requiring a robust understanding and hands-on expertise of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, data architecture, and modeling concepts. Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, along with the motivation to achieve results in a dynamic business environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum of three years in a similar senior role
• Experience designing and implementing Azure Data solutions using services such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Stream Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, and familiarity with Azure Purview
• Understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance frameworks
• Experience with development approaches like CI/CD
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as a team leader and player in a diverse technical environment
• Customer-service orientation and adaptability to fast-paced environments
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Willingness to travel across the UK and abroad
• Graduate-level education in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent professional qualification
• Formal training/certification on related technologies is highly valued
• Knowledge of Common Data Models/Industry Data Models is an asset
• Experience with OLAP technology and Microsoft on-premises BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) is useful but not mandatory
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform is an asset

Responsibilities:

• Design and oversee end-to-end deployment of Azure Data Platforms, including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, pipelines, BI, and Data Analytics solutions
• Support presales activities, including estimating and responding to RFPs
• Stay updated on emerging technologies
• Develop data technology strategies and roadmaps with clients
• Oversee and support delivery team outputs
• Perform data modeling, design, and build activities
• Enforce architecture and documentation standards, policies, and procedures
• Analyze and resolve issues with existing Azure Data Platforms
• Collaborate with business experts to translate requirements into reporting and analytics solutions
• Assist in project scoping, estimation, and planning
• Ensure project deliverables meet objectives and timelines
• Prepare comprehensive technical architecture documentation
• Address customer queries promptly and effectively
• Mentor and guide team members
