Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant in Critical Care Medicine to join our esteemed medical facility in Dubai, UAE. This position is ideal for an experienced physician who possesses a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing critically ill patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the implementation of best practices in critical care. This role requires not only clinical expertise but also excellent communication and leadership skills to guide and mentor junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of our critical care services.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert clinical care to patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), ensuring comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of critically ill patients.
  2. Lead and participate in multidisciplinary rounds, collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
  3. Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including residents and fellows, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the department.
  4. Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance the knowledge and skills of the medical team in critical care practices and protocols.
  5. Ensure adherence to evidence‑based guidelines and protocols in the management of critically ill patients, continuously evaluating and improving care standards.
  6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance patient outcomes and optimize resource utilization.
  7. Engage in research activities and contribute to the advancement of critical care medicine through publications and presentations at medical conferences.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely medical records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  9. Provide expert consultations to other departments and healthcare providers regarding critical care management.
  10. Participate in on‑call duties as required, providing immediate care and support to critically ill patients outside of regular working hours.
Preferred Candidate
  1. Board certification in Critical Care Medicine or equivalent, demonstrating a high level of expertise in the field.
  2. Proven experience working in a tertiary care hospital setting, with a strong background in managing complex cases in critical care.
  3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  4. Strong leadership qualities, capable of inspiring and guiding junior staff in a high‑pressure environment.
  5. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in critical care medicine.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make quick, informed decisions in critical situations.
  7. Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other healthcare technology to enhance patient care.
  8. A compassionate and patient‑centered approach, prioritizing the needs and comfort of patients and their families.
  9. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
  10. Willingness to relocate and adapt to a culturally diverse working environment in Dubai.
