We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Calibration Technician to join our Dubai-based team. This role is crucial for overseeing and executing calibrations of OTT HydroMet Pyranometers and related devices, while also taking a leadership role in driving operational excellence, supporting regional growth, and optimizing calibration lab performance.

The Senior Calibration Technician will play a pivotal role in reporting key performance metrics such as Revenue and On-Time Delivery (OTD) , applying lean methodologies to streamline operations, offering local technical support , and expanding calibration volumes across the region.

• Perform and oversee calibrations of OTT HydroMet Pyranometers and similar solar radiation instruments in accordance with industry standards.

• Ensure timely, high-quality service aligned with On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets and calibration accuracy expectations.

• Support administrative processes including calibration documentation, customer communication, and timely invoicing.

• Manage logistics around the movement of instruments into and out of the calibration lab.

• Track, analyze, and report Revenue and OTD metrics to local and regional management on a regular basis.

• Identify, lead, and implement process improvements using Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies .

• Provide local technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, including troubleshooting and technical guidance.

• Actively engage in expanding calibration volume by identifying regional opportunities, supporting business development efforts, and ensuring service readiness.

• Mentor junior technicians and support skill development within the local team.

• Maintain calibration equipment and ensure compliance with quality standards and audit requirements.

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related technical field (required)

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in calibration, preferably in the solar energy industry

• Experience with Kipp & Zonen or similar solar radiation instruments (preferred)

• Proven experience in reporting operational metrics and leading process improvements

• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodology (certification is a plus)

• Excellent spoken and written English

• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for reporting)

• Customer-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
