Job summary
A leading consulting firm in Sharjah is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage sourcing and purchasing for water and wastewater treatment projects. The successful candidate will negotiate contracts, evaluate suppliers, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Key qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3–5 years of procurement experience in the water and wastewater sector. Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with ERP software are essential for this role.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement within water & wastewater, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with ERP or Tally software.
- Strong knowledge of treatment systems, materials, and technical specifications.
Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate suppliers for mechanical, electrical, civil, and chemical components.
- Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms.
- Manage purchase orders from initiation to delivery.
- Maintain supplier databases for pumps, valves, and instruments.

We’re looking for a Procurement Officer to join our team and take charge of sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing critical equipment, materials, and services for water and wastewater treatment projects. You’ll play a key role in ensuring procurement activities align with project timelines, budgets, and compliance standards.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for mechanical, electrical, civil, and chemical components.
- Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms.
- Manage purchase orders from initiation to delivery.
- Maintain supplier databases (pumps, valves, membranes, instruments, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with legal, finance, logistics, and project teams.
- Oversee shipping, import/export, and customs documentation.
- Track procurement progress and supplier performance.
- Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or PMP are a plus.
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement within the water & wastewater, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with ERP or Tally software.
- Strong knowledge of treatment systems, materials, and technical specifications.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Technical understanding of pumps, valves, piping, and instrumentation.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
